Aaliyah Dana Haughton and Aarti Mann

Aaliyah Dana Haughton burst into the limelight in 1994 when she dropped her debut album Age Ain't nothing but an Number. Her album, which was released when she only had 15 years old, went Gold. The album was part of a group that was greatly in the style of R. Kelly and it placed her in the limelight. She collaborated in 1996 with Jermaine Dupri and Timbaland for her second album One In A Million which included the top-rated hit song If Your Girl Only Knew. With the success of this album, Aaliyah won international acclaim for her work as an R&B performer. In 2000, she appeared alongside the famous martial arts star Jet Li for the film Romeo Must Die. Her role came about following an interview with film producer Joel Silver at an awards event. In 2002, she was part of the film vampire Queen of the Damned based on the Anne Rice book. She then got into the Matrix in the form of Zee as Zee in The Matrix Sequels having also been in The Matrix Reloaded in 2003 as well as The Matrix Revolutions in the same year. The actress is the first Indian American to be born in Connecticut. Mann is the abbreviation used for her first name in marriage, Mankad. She uses Aarti Mann as well as Aarti Majumdar as her professional name. While she started out with minor TV and film parts, her acting career started to gain momentum in the mid-2000s. Other than The Big Bang Theory her most notable work includes Leverage (2012) Suits (2013) and Grey's Anatomy (2017). She has appeared in numerous commercials for Volvo's international automobile maker. She lives with her family in Los Angeles with her husband and daughter. She will continue to pursue an acting career.
