Aaliyah Dana Haughton burst into fame in 1994 after she debuted her first album Age Ain't nothing but A number. It was Gold when she was just 15 years old. This collaboration, heavily influential to R. Kelly's music and put her in the limelight. In the year 1996 Jermaine and Timbaland made Aaliyah's album One In A Million. It contained If Your Girls Only Knew the most-sold single. Aaliyah received international recognition for her R&B singing through the album. In 2000, she starred alongside the martial arts icon Jet Li in Romeo Must Die. Joel Silver spotted her in an awards show. Queen of the Damned was her first film role in 2002. It is based off The Anne Rice novel. The Matrix Sequels saw her play Zee, after appearing on The Matrix Reloaded (2003) and The Matrix Revolutions that same year. Her acting career began with minor TV and film performances, but her fame increased in the mid 2000s. Her other noteworthy works are Leverage 2012, Suits 2013, and Grey's Anatomy 2017. The actress has also been featured in major commercials for brands like Volvo the world's largest auto maker. She lives with her family in Los Angeles along with her husband, daughter and pursues her acting profession.
