Aaliyah Dana Haaughton soared to fame after releasing the album she dubbed Age Ain't Nothing More Than an Number in 1994. She was only 15 at when the album was released and it went on to become Gold. It was made as part of a group that was greatly influenced by R. Kelly and it placed her in the spotlight. In 1996, Jermaine and Timbaland released Aaliyah's second album One In A Million. The album contained the single If You Girls Only Knew the top-selling single. Aaliyah's sophomore album called One in a million was released in 1996. It contained the number-one smash single, If Your Girl Only Knew. Aaliyah was a part of the famous martial artist Jet-Li Romeo Must Die (2000), an action and romantic film. In 2002 she got to play the vampire flick Queen of the Damned which was inspired by The Anne Rice novel. In 2003, she appeared in The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. Although she began with small TV and movie roles, her acting started to gain momentum around the turn of the century. Some of her other notable work are Leverage 2012, Suits 2013, and Grey's Anatomy 2017. The actress has been featured in commercials of major companies like the international auto manufacturer Volvo. She is a resident of Los Angeles where she continues acting as an actress.
