Aaliyah Haughton became famous after 1994 when she debuted her debut album Age Ain't Nothing but an amount. It was Gold at the age of 15 years old. R. Kelly heavily influenced the group and helped bring the singer to the forefront. In 1996, she collaborated with Jermaine Dpri and Timbaland in her sophomore studio album One In A Million, that included the top-selling single If Your Girl knew. Aaliyah was a well-known R&B vocalist after the release. In 2000, she was in Romeo Must Die, a romantic action film with Jet-Li. The role was offered to her when she was spotted by the film's director Joel Silver at an awards show. In 2002 she got to play the film vampire Queen of the Damned which was an adaptation of the Anne Rice novel. The year 2003 saw her appeared as a character in The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. She received four Grammy nominations for 1999, 2001, 2002 and 2003. She is a first-generation Indian-American from Connecticut. Her stage name Mann is an abbreviation of her marital name Mankad. But, she has both Aarti Mann and Aarti Majumdar for professional names. Though she started her career in film and TV with a few minor roles her acting career gained speed in the late 2000s. In addition to The Big Bang Theory her other notable works are Leverage (2012) Suits (2013) as well as Grey's Anatomy (2017). She also appeared in several commercials that included Volvo and other major automobile brands. The actress currently resides at Los Angeles along with her husband, daughter and pursues her acting career.
